Kappa Alpha Theta celebrates Linked Heart to Heart Day of Service each year on October 19.

In honor of founder Bettie Locke Hamilton’s birthday, Theta collegians and alumnae across the globe join together in service to spread the widest influence for good.

The annual Day of Service celebrates the ways we can all make a difference in our communities each and every day. No act of service is too small! Imagine the impact we can have if we all give just a little bit of our time to help those in need.

Visit the Kappa Alpha Theta website for more details about the Day of Service and how Thetas across North American participate in service events

Join the Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter in serving local first responders this year!

Follow the steps below to participate:

  1. 1. Find a fire station, police station or MED-ACT office near you. Need helping finding the closest one to you? Just google "fire station near me" and a map will pull up with phone number and address.

  2. 2. Bake or buy your goodies - no judgement on whatever way you decide to go. It's recommended to take about 2 dozen of your item with you wherever you go. They do not have to be individually wrapped.

  3. 3. Print and cut out the printable linked below to include with your goodies.

  5. 4. Drop off your treats at the station you picked. If they are out on a call, leave them at the door or try again another time.

  6. 5. Make sure to take a picture and share with us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #thetadayofservice

  7. 6. Have fun - our first responders are wonderful people who deserve a special treat this week!
